A tragic incident has shocked the Indian film fraternity as 21-year-old actor Priyanshu Chhetri, best known for his role in Amitabh Bachchan’s 2022 film Jhund, was allegedly murdered by his close friend following a drunken fight in Nagpur.
The Incident
According to police reports, the actor and his friend Dhruv Lal Bahadur Sahu (20) went to an abandoned house in the Jaripatka area of Nagpur late Tuesday night for a drinking session. Both were known to be close friends who frequently consumed alcohol together.
During the night, an argument broke out between the two under the influence of alcohol. Preliminary investigations suggest that Chhetri allegedly threatened Sahu before falling asleep. In a fit of fear and anger, Sahu reportedly tied Chhetri with plastic wires and attacked him with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries.
Locals Alert Police
Around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, locals discovered Chhetri lying half-naked and severely injured, bound with wires near the abandoned site. They immediately informed the police, who rushed him to Mayo Hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead during treatment.
The deceased actor was a resident of Lumbini Nagar in Nagpur city. The police have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused, Dhruv Sahu.

A senior police official confirmed the arrest and stated that both Chhetri and Sahu had past criminal records, including cases related to theft and assault. Authorities are continuing further investigations to determine the full sequence of events and the motive behind the crime.
