With inline freestyle skating now featured in the Asian Games, Chandigarh’s young talent Janvi Jindal aspires to represent India at the international level and bring home prestigious medals for the country.
Chandigarh’s young skating sensation, Janvi Jindal @skaterjanvi, has etched her name in history by achieving five Guinness World Records in inline freestyle skating. At just 17, Janvi’s journey from a curious eight-year-old to a world record holder is nothing short of inspiring. With inline freestyle skating now part of the Asian Games, Janvi dreams of representing India on the international stage and winning medals for her country.

A Journey That Started with Passion
Back in 2016, Janvi, then eight years old, asked her parents, Munish Jindal and Divya Jindal, for a pair of roller skates. Her interest in adventure sports like river rafting and rock climbing naturally drew her toward skating. Without professional coaching, her father learned the basics of roller freestyle skating and inline skating from YouTube and began training her.
Janvi practiced tirelessly at Sector 22 Market and the Rose Garden Underpass in Chandigarh. Reflecting on her early struggles, Janvi says,
“Initially, I would fall 40-50 times a day, but I never gave up. Achieving five Guinness World Records is a truly special feeling for all of us. I dedicate these records to my parents who stood by me through everything.”
Five Guinness World Records Achieved
In 2024, Janvi attempted five Guinness World Records at the Rose Garden Underpass, which were officially confirmed earlier this week. Her remarkable achievements include:
- Most 360-degree rotations on inline skates in 30 seconds – 27 spins.
- Fastest slalom (20 cones) on inline skates on two wheels – 8.85 seconds.
- Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in 30 seconds – 42 spins.
- Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in one minute – 72 spins.
- Most consecutive one-wheeled 360-degree spins.
She completed her first record on July 28, 2024, and the remaining four records on September 15, 2024.
National Achievements and Medals
Janvi first rose to prominence in 2019 when she won a gold medal in the Roller Freestyle event at the 57th National Roller-Skating Championship in Visakhapatnam. She went on to win:
- Gold in Roller Freestyle and Bronze in Inline Freestyle at the 58th National Roller-Skating Championship in Chandigarh (2020).
- Bronze in Inline Freestyle at the national championships in Mohali (2021) and Bengaluru (2022).
- Bronze medal again in Inline Freestyle at the 2023 National Championships in Bengaluru.
Creativity Over Speed
Unlike many skaters who focus on speed skating or roller hockey, Janvi chose inline freestyle because of the creativity it offers.
“I wanted to do something creative on skates, and freestyle skating gives me that satisfaction. It requires hours of practice, yoga, and gym sessions, but I love expressing my creativity through my performance,” she shares.
Her dedication and talent have also earned her recognition from the Yoga Association of India.
Dreaming Big for India
With inline freestyle skating gaining prominence at events like the Asian Games, Janvi is determined to represent India on international platforms.
“I watched the inline freestyle skaters at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and I want to compete for India one day. It requires financial support and consistent training, but I’m ready to give my best,” she says with confidence.
A True Inspiration
Janvi Jindal’s story is a testament to passion, perseverance, and family support. From falling dozens of times every day to holding five Guinness World Records, she has proven that determination can lead to extraordinary success.
