From PhD to OnlyFans to Pornhub: One of the controversial YouTubers, Zara Dar is busy in all headlines again. Zara left her PhD program and started doing a career on OnlyFans, and now she’s trying to create educational content on Pornhub. She is busy stirring up lots of online discourse about her innovative way of creating content and earning money.

YouTuber Zara Dar Uploads STEM Lectures on Pornhub

Zara has recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that she posts the same STEM videos on both YouTube and Pornhub. While YouTube offers a bigger audience, Pornhub pays much more for ad revenue per view. Zara has shared that though her neural networks video got almost a million views on YouTube and only 32,000 on Pornhub, the latter paid three times more.

“People might not know this, but I upload the same STEM videos on both YouTube and Pornhub. Although the view count tends to be higher on YouTube, the ad money per 1 million views on @Pornhub is almost three times more,” Zara has pointed out in her post.

She further gave a breakdown stating that YouTube paid her $340 per million views, and for the same number of views, Pornhub was generating $1,000.

Screenshots of her video statistics quickly went viral on Zara’s post. But not all the platforms were ready for her openness. Zara mentioned that her LinkedIn account was suddenly blocked after she shared her revenue comparison there.

“I posted the same thing on X and LinkedIn comparing the ad revenue I normally make per view on YouTube versus Pornhub. While the post went semi-viral on LinkedIn with many Top Voices reaching out to me, my account was unexpectedly blocked without prior notice!” Zara Dar explained.

The unusual approach of Zara Dar has attracted mixed reactions across all social media. While some people appreciated her out-of-the-box thinking, others criticized her for choosing the platform.

  • “You should make a follow-up post on LinkedIn: ‘Here’s what getting banned from LinkedIn because I posted about Pornhub taught me about B2B SaaS,'” one user quipped.
  • “You should consider opening up to affiliate marketing to fill the void,” another suggested.
  • “Both are different platforms, so you should learn the terms and conditions before posting next time,” a third user advised.

Zara Dar’s move raises questions about how creators can diversify their revenue streams in the digital age. Her decision to leverage adult content platforms for educational purposes challenges traditional notions of content categorization and monetization. While her choice remains controversial, Zara’s strategy highlights the evolving dynamics of online platforms and the potential for creators to rethink how and where they share their work.
