Gurugram, January 2, 2025 – Quick commerce leader Blinkit launches 10-minute ambulance service in some regions of Gurugram, with a view to improving emergency health services. This pilot service, launched on Thursday, will fill a critical gap in urban cities regarding dependable and timely ambulance services.
A Lifesaving Initiative
The service, available on the Blinkit mobile application, would promise a response in just 10 minutes. Ambulances will be equipped with lifesaving tools such as oxygen cylinders, automated external defibrillators, stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and essential emergency medicines. For ensuring the safety of the patient, a scoop stretcher and wheelchair will also be carried.
Each ambulance crew consists of a duty assistant, a trained driver, and a paramedic for professional care while in transit.
Blinkit Ambulance Service Pilot Program to Start in Gurugram
“We are taking our first step toward solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities. The first five ambulances will be on the road in Gurugram starting today,” said Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
This pilot project seeks to test the operational feasibility of such a quick response service in a bustling urban environment. Blinkit plans to take this service to other major cities across India within the next two years.
Accessible and Affordable Care
Profit is not a goal here. We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term,” Dhindsa said in a statement highlighting the company’s vision.
By prioritizing accessibility and affordability, Blinkit aims to fill a critical gap in India’s emergency medical services sector. The initiative also reflects the company’s commitment to leveraging its logistics expertise to serve public welfare.
Future Expansion
This pilot program is only the beginning. Blinkit is looking to expand the service to major cities in the country, providing faster and more reliable access to emergency care across the nation. It’s part of a broader push for technological solutions to improve healthcare accessibility in India.
A Game-Changer in Emergency Services
With this revolutionary step, Blinkit has forayed into the health sector with a bang-its style of being super speedy and efficient-on emergency medical services. The 10-minute ambulance service is no ordinary business innovation but a lifesaving initiative that is likely to change the face of urban emergency care in India.
